Announcing Walk in New York by Wandercraft: Where Movement is Medicine

Wandercraft is thrilled to announce the official opening of the first Walk Center in the United States — Walk in New York, right in the heart of Manhattan!
Located at 345 Park Avenue South in New York City, Walk in New York represents a groundbreaking partnership between Wandercraft and licensed physical therapy professionals to help individuals with neurological conditions move more, move better, and move again.
Reimagining neurorehabilitation through innovation
Walk in New York's mission is clear: to provide a space where walking is more than a goal, it's a transformative experience accessible to all, regardless of trunk or upper extremity strength.
With our hands-free, self-stabilized exoskeleton technology, individuals with spinal cord injuries, stroke, and other neurological conditions can now:
- Receive personalized screenings with licensed physical therapists
- Usee the revolutionary Atalante X exoskeleton at their own pace
- Experience walking again in a safe, professional environment
- Access comprehensive neurorehabilitation services with expert guidance
How to book a session
- Initial screening. Prospective participants can request an appointment via: https://www.winypt.health/booking. A member of the team will verify medical eligibility and coordinate with the patient.
- Clinical intake. On the first visit licensed PTs ensure that the patient take anthropometric measurements to adapt the exoskeleton and set personalized gait parameters.
- Therapy blocks. Programs typically run 2–3 sessions per week and are tailored towards the patient's goals.
- Outcome tracking. Each session captures performance metrics allowing objective progress monitoring.
"The improvements are sometimes small, such as improving strength and aerobic capacity to be able to speak more clearly; but to the patient, this is invaluable." says Josh Breighner, PT, DPT, clinical lead at Walk in New York.
Cutting-edge technology enhancing the mobility journey
At the center of this innovative approach stands the Atalante X — a self-balancing robotic exoskeleton that mimics natural human gait. This remarkable technology allows patients to experience walking in a way that feels intuitive and empowering.
But the technological offerings extend beyond exoskeletons. Walk in New York integrates a full suite of innovative tools, including:
- Virtual reality systems providing real-time movement feedback
- Mirror therapy to promote motor recovery
- Advanced gait analysis technology
- Immersive environments that enhance engagement and safety
Future hub for the Personal Exoskeleton
Walk in New York is set to become the operational facility for delivery of Wandercraft's Personal Exoskeletons.
As Wandercraft moves forward with its vision of bringing portable exoskeleton technology directly to users, this center will serve as the hub where individuals can receive their personal devices, undergo comprehensive training, and access ongoing support. This marks a significant step toward Wandercraft's mission of making everyday mobility accessible to everyone through advanced robotics technology.
